Consenna unveils major new channel sales programme for HP for Education

Consenna, the business consultancy specialising in sales effectiveness programmes for global IT firms, has announced a major new programme that will revolutionise the HP for Education (HPfE) scheme when it launches its 2020 programme early next year.

Entering its eighth year, HP for Education is a trade-in scheme allowing schools and colleges across the UK and Ireland to send in old hardware and receive cash or scheme credits towards the purchase of new IT solutions. It has given several million pounds back to schools in recent years. However, increased attention on the impact of technology throughout learning environments has meant that the need to significantly expand and improve the programme has become a priority.

The programme is supported by HP for Education’s Channel Partners, of which there are currently 21, and it is with that audience in mind that Consenna has created an entirely new sales enablement programme. Paul Thompson, Commercial Director, comments:
“Having been involved in various aspects of the HPfE programme for the past two years, we have been eager to demonstrate how we could deliver significant improvements that would drive greater take up amongst schools and colleges and, ultimately, lead to improved outcomes for young people and staff through the use of technology.’

“The programme has already delivered significant benefits to UK education but with such an enormous potential pool of schools and colleges who could be part of this scheme yet to sign up, we have recognised the need to take some radical steps to improve the 2020 programme.”

As part of Consenna’s management of the scheme, a number of focus groups with channel partners,solution providers and educators have already taken place so that a clear understanding of the existing strengths of the programme are acknowledged, alongside the areas where improvements
can make a tangible difference to the benefits for schools. It is the first time in the programme’s history that this has taken place.

Additionally, Consenna has totally refreshed and updated all marketing collateral, sales enablement tools and support materials and created a virtual staff room where educators can identify high-impact IT solutions to support their school’s priority needs. Significantly, as part of Consenna’s management of the programme, a number of ‘HP School Transformation Specialists’ will deliver change management and professional development programmes to support schools in embedding their technology solutions for the greatest impact. In a budget-constrained education environment this provides a great return on investment.

The full reveal of the 2020 programme for HPfE will happen at leading EdTech show, BETT, in January. However, as Neil Sawyer, Director of Channel at HP with responsibility for the HP for Education programme, comments, there’s already a lot of excitement growing:
